Bringing History Alive text

Take a step back in time to see how families lived in wartime Britain.

In the Home Front Marquee you can learn Make-do-and Mend or knitting skills through our programme of workshops throughout the day or watch a Cooking with Rations demonstration in the 1940s kitchen.  A full programe of talks will be announced closer to the show so you can plan your visit.

Re-enactors will bring back some memories of the wartime years, whether serving tea from the NAAFI van, wearing fashions of the time or dancing to well known tunes.  There's always plenty to see around the show.  Life on the frontline is hard to imagine and historical displays will help to illustrate this. Take time to remember the sacrifices of those generations that went before us and take part in the Service of Remembrance on Sunday morning.

Visit the main arena to see combat training, re-enactments and artillery firing demonstrations.
